Inclusive Sizing Guide for Women's Knitwear

Finding knitwear that fits beautifully across a range of body shapes can feel like a challenge — but it doesn't have to be. At Double Feature Clothing, our knitwear is designedwith real women in mind. This guide is here to help you find your perfect fit, understand how our knits are designed to wear, and style them in a way that feels great on your body.

Knitwear Designed to Fit

Our knits are crafted with a relaxed, easy silhouette that works across a range of sizes. The fabric has a natural stretch and drape that moves with your body rather than against it. Rather than a rigid structured fit, our knitwear is designed to feel comfortable and look effortless — whether you size up for an oversized look or stay true to size for a more fitted feel.

Understanding Your Size

We recommend measuring yourself before ordering, especially if you're between sizes. Here's what to measure:

  • Bust: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape parallel to the ground.
  • Waist: Measure around your natural waist, the narrowest part of your torso.
  • Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips, usually about 20cm below your waist.

Once you have your measurements, compare them to our size guide. If you're between sizes, consider how you like your knitwear to fit — size down for a more fitted look, or size up for a relaxed, oversized style.

Styling Tips by Body Shape

Hourglass

Your proportions are naturally balanced, so most silhouettes will work well. Try tucking your knit into high-waisted trousers or a midi skirt to define your waist. A half-tuck also works beautifully for a more casual look.

Pear Shape

Draw attention upward with a slightly oversized knit worn loose over slim-fit bottoms. A bold colour or textured knit on top balances wider hips beautifully. Wide-leg trousers are also a great pairing — they create a balanced, elongated silhouette.

Apple Shape

Look for knits with a longer hem that skims over the midsection. Wearing your knit untucked over straight-leg or wide-leg pants creates a streamlined look. V-neck or open necklines draw the eye upward and elongate the torso.

Rectangle Shape

Create the illusion of curves by cinching your knit at the waist with a belt, or tucking it into a full midi skirt. Textured or chunky knits add visual interest and dimension to a straighter frame.

Inverted Triangle

Balance broader shoulders with knits in softer, neutral tones on top, paired with wider-leg bottoms in a contrasting colour or print. Avoid heavy shoulder details and opt for relaxed, drapey silhouettes.

Fit Tips for Knitwear Specifically

  • Shoulder seams: These should sit at or just off the edge of your shoulder. If they're falling down your arm, size down.
  • Sleeve length: Knit sleeves can be pushed up or scrunched for a more casual look — don't stress if they're slightly long.
  • Body length: Consider whether you'll be tucking in or wearing untucked. A longer hem gives you more styling flexibility.
  • Stretch and wear-in: Quality knitwear softens and relaxes slightly with wear, so a snug fit on arrival will ease over time.
